Final Reflection

What did I make/do or learn more about?

I created tutorials on how to propagate food scraps and learnt several new techniques during the research phase. I’ve also learnt more about exactly how extensive food waste is as a global crisis and why it’s important to reduce our contribution.

Did you change your topic? Why? Why not?

No I didn’t. Not only was my topic quite specific so finding information was made easy but it was also something I enjoyed researching.

What I learned about the way I like to learn

I like having a clear structure or plan to follow when doing work. I need to have my dates set out so I can decide when to do things and where I should allocate time or not. Which is why the COVID situation sort of threw me off initially.

How the COVID situation, and being at home affected me?

I lost interest for school as a whole for a week or so and felt really down. I didn’t really have motivation to do anything whether that be school work, having fun with my family or just going outside. This really affected the standard and quality of my work. I still feel this way to some extent but I’m hoping it’ll resolve itself once school reopens.

If I had the chance to do this again, what would I do differently?

I would start propagating my own vegetables a lot earlier so viewers can see the full cycle of propagation. I also would take photos every few days or so to show progress in more detail.

What have I learned that I could apply to other subjects and to my learning in the future?

I think I’ve developed my self-discipline a bit further. Despite my recent attitude towards school, I made sure I got everything done and completed at a standard I would be proud to display.
